Karel Tuma
| Born on 2nd of September 1975 in Prague in Czech Republic. Graduated from Business Academy. During years 1996-97 he worked as a stage technician in the theatre "Na Vinohradech" in Prague. In the year 1998 he was accepted to faculty of Film and Television academy of musical arts FAMU in Prague. The next big topic comes from contacts and sympathies with some left-winged movements (supported by magazines Mladý svìt and Konfrontace). When realizing and mainly following use of photographs he cooperates among other things with foundation Clovìk v tisni "People in need”. Tuma works in topic cycles and to all the topics he continuously comes back. He pursues long-lasting documentary projects with strong social legend. He is the founding member of photographic group Rovnýma nohama /Straight legs/. Since he completed his studies at Prague FAMU in 2005 he had been directing seminars on documentary photography at the faculty of social sciences at the Charls University - Institute for communication studies. | |
